Country=UK; Genre=Mystery; 84Min; Jennifer Ehle; Info=There, but for the grace of God, goes Maud, a reclusive young nurse whose impressionable demeanor causes her to pursue a pious path of Christian devotion after an obscure trauma. Now charged with the hospice care of Amanda, a retired dancer ravaged by cancer, Maud's fervent faith quickly inspires an obsessive conviction that she must save her ward's soul from eternal damnation - whatever the cost. Making her feature film debut, writer-director Rose Glass cannily lures the audience into this disturbed psyche, steadily setting up her veritable diary of a country nurse for an unnerving and ultimately shocking trajectory. Morfydd Clark (also at the Festival in The Personal History of David Copperfield) portrays the sanctimonious Maud with an intense stoicism that belies a disquieting vulnerability, as Maud desperately vies for absolution and solidarity from her embittered patient (an enthralling Jennifer Ehle, also at the Festival in Beneath the Blue Suburban Skies). Glass tenderly captures this relationship with an empathetic gaze that first assumes an ethereal, dreamlike atmosphere - but it isn't long before Maud's dogmatic candor incites an irreconcilable friction that spirals her mind into a suffocating confluence of creeping doubt and paranoia. As Glass tightens the screws on her misguided martyr, well-placed nods are made to religious horror forerunners like William Friedkin's The Exorcist, further contributing to the film's increasingly dread-filled malaise. And when this insidious fever climatically breaks, the consequences are devastating and terrifying in equal measure; Score=251 votes.

Ne zha watch online sub. Ne Zha watchers. After seeing the posters and trailers, my first reaction was: nezha is so ugly. Feel ugly on the right, because this film is about to break the prejudice. As a lot of people look at this is diffuse, do not see; Or to see, see feel good also want to automatically deduct 20 points. In the movie, calling nezha a monster is politically correct. In addition to the film, scold domestic films, diffuse also become political correctness, as long as you scold it, someone will give you thumb up. In fact nezha is not a monster, he also wants to fall demon in addition to the devil wash name; Not all films are bad, but some people want to make a good film to prove themselves. Like nezha. The landscape of mountains and rivers is truly unrestrained and shocking. It embodies the objects that once existed only in the imagination and shows the infinite imagination of Chinese mythology incisively and vividly. Those familiar stories are no longer just stories, but can be seen, heard and enjoyed visually. With nezha this year and jiang ziya next year, the god movie universe is about to open. It's time to introduce Chinese culture to the world.

More... September 12th, 2019 It: Chapter Two not only earned first place on the overall box office, it earned first place on the theater average chart with an average of 19, 926. Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice was next with an average of 16, 176 in seven theaters; this is an excellent result for a documentary. Next up might be my favorite box office result of the year, as Mr. Klein and Ms. Purple had nearly identical openings at 15, 915 and 15, 734 respectively. Mr. Klien and Ms. Purple just seem like a nice couple. Im glad they met. Moving on. It: Chapter Two matched its domestic opening weekend internationally, earning 94. 0 million on 26, 790 screens in 75 markets over the weekend. Unlike the films domestic debut, its international opening was close to on par with the first It s debut, in local currencies not counting inflation. In fact, Chapter Two had a faster start in Russia earning 9. 20 million to 7. 28 million for its predecessor. The film had nearly identical openings in both Mexico (9. 14 million) and in the U. K. (9. 06 million. The film opens in France this weekend, while it doesnt finish off its international run until it debuts in Japan in November. September 5th, 2019 It was an odd week on the theater average chart, as the number one film was a holdover. Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool s average was down less than 0. 2% to 18, 222 and it did this while doubling its theater count to 2. This is very impressive and bodes well for its future. The best new release was Ne Zha, which earned an average 17, 649 in 66 theaters. Animated films rarely do well in limited release and 66 theaters is a lot for a limited release, so this average is even more impressive than it looks at first glance. Finally, Official Secrets opened with an average of 16, 241. September 4th, 2019 Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw had a very steep decline in China, but still managed to earn first place on the international chart with 37. 9 million in 68 markets over the weekend for totals of 528. 7 million internationally and 687. 9 million worldwide. The film plummeted 72% during its second weekend in China earning 27. 65 million for a two-week total of 170. 36 million. This drop-off is extreme, even for China. However, it doesnt matter. The movie will hit 200 million in that market and 700 million worldwide, which is more than enough to break even and get yet another installment in the franchise. September 1st, 2019 Summer ended on a thoroughly mediocre note, with more August releases missing expectations than topping them. That said, it wasnt a complete mess, with Hobbs and Shaw doing extremely well internationally, and some others heading towards profitability, if not becoming spectacular hits. September, on the other hand, should be one of the best months in the year, at least on the year-over-year competition. The month starts with It: Chapter Two, which could open with more than 100 million. By comparison, last September, only one film, The Nun, earned more than 100 million in total. Additionally, Abominable has a slim but realistic chance at reaching the 100 million milestone, so it should be a great month on the year-over-year comparison. 2019 isnt going to catch up to 2018, but it should narrow the gap considerably. August 30th, 2019 Its an awkward time for limited releases, as it is way too late for a summer box office run, but still way too early for Awards Season buzz. That said, there are some films on this weeks list that could do well in theaters, even if they never expand significantly. These include; Before You Know It, The Load, Ne Zha, and Official Secrets. August 28th, 2019 Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw roared back into first place on the international chart earning 119. 4 million in 68 markets for totals of 440. 4 million internationally and 588. 1 million worldwide. This includes a first place, three-day 99. 08 million debut in China, for a total opening in the market of 103. 06 million. Granted, films tend to have short legs in China, but a start like this will still give the film an easy time reaching 700 million worldwide, which is enough to be a financial success, even if it doesnt match the previous installments in the franchise. August 21st, 2019 Once Upon a Time. In Hollywood started its international run in earnest with 48. 53 million over the three-day weekend, 55. 22 million including previews and weekdays. It was playing on 10, 054 screens in 59 markets and has a running tally of 65. 44 million after two weeks of release. Its biggest market of the weekend was either France or the U. K., depending on how you look at it. In the former, it earned first place with 7. 08 million on 683 screens. It also opened in first place in the latter with 6. 22 million on 708 screens over the weekend, and had a total opening of 9. 16 million. It also had strong openings in Germany (5. 06 million on 820 screens over the weekend for a total opening of 5. 82 million) Australia (4. 52 million on 299 screens) and Spain (2. 41 million on 869 screens over the weekend for a total opening of 3. 63 million. August 14th, 2019 Nezha remains the top draw in its native China and internationally. This weekend, it pulled in 68. 97 million for a total of 512. 19 million after nearly four full weeks of release. This doesnt just make the movie the highest-grossing animated film in China, it more than doubles the previous record set by Zootopia. Additionally, it has entered the top five all-time in China, in local currencies, and will soon climb into fourth place over Operation Red Sea. August 8th, 2019 Nezha continued to grow in China, earning 128. 49 million over the weekend, which was not only the best film in China, but the biggest movie internationally. Furthermore, the film has earned 342. 33 million, putting it ahead of Zootopia as the biggest animated film of all time in that market. And it didnt just tiptoe ahead of the competition. Nezha is over 100 million above Zootopia in China. I really hope it gets a release here, as not enough Chinese movies are seen outside of Asia. July 31st, 2019 The Lion King remained in first place on the international chart earning 142. 8 million in 53 markets for totals of 611. 9 million internationally and 962. 7 million worldwide. The films only opening this weekend was in Hong Kong, where it earned 2. 0 million opening in first place. The film has yet to open in Italy and Japan, so it will have no trouble getting to 1 billion before it finishes its international run. Estagiários... The Invisible Life of Euridice Gusmao is a melodrama that gives the audience a look at Brazilian culture during the 1950s and what life was like for most women under the patriarchal society that often made them struggle to succeed. What captured my attention from the outset were the spectacular set design and the period costumes that accurately depict life from that time. The production team, particularly director Karim Aïnouz and producer Rodrigo Teixeira, have my ultimate respect in nailing those aspects so accurately. This film entertained and educated me about that period of time and its culture, which are very unique characteristics I don't often see, but love.
The film is about two inseparable sisters living in Rio de Janeiro during the 1950s, that live under their conservative parents' strict guidance. Even though both sisters are involved in the traditional life that surrounds them, Euridice wants to become a renowned pianist and Guida wants to find true love. When their father separates them and makes them live apart from each other, they work to meet their goals, while hoping that they can reunite one day and celebrate life together, since they are each other's support and joy.
My favorite scene is when Euridice carefully covers for Guida's secret nighttime outings to dance clubs with a Greek sailor. She encourages her sister to not give in to their parents' strict lifestyle and proposes that they should expose themselves to experiences that will fill them with happiness.
The important message that I learned from this film is the importance of how women have fought for their place and equality within a patriarchal society. Before, women were submissive to the patriarch, but as time has passed, society has realized what a huge injustice was being made and corrected the social forms. This movie is very big on showing how times were different back then for women and how thankful we all must be that a turn was made. Young women like Euridice and Guida struggled from an early age to find happiness. I rate this movie 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 13 to 18, plus adults.

Ela então passa a carregar a fábrica consigo. REENCONTRO Fernanda Montenegro encarna Eurídice no Brasil contemporâneo. Senão estaria me considerando velho.

As últimas críticas do AdoroCinema Comentários.

Mystify michael hutchence full movie. Mystify: michael hutchence documentary. It's been over 22 years since Michael Hutchence of INXS took his life. This 2019 documentary was worth that wait. Beautifully made. The team behind this doc has included so much stunning footage shot by Michael himself, and by those around him, as well as file footage of the time. They've compiled a work of art and a realistic portrait of Hutchence's life. There is so much we learn in this about his final few dramatic and tumultuous years. There are contemporary interviews included, but no video / talking heads of them speaking now. This was the right choice by the filmmakers. It's simply contextual narration over the footage of the time. It was painstakingly edited/produced, and one of the best documents on a musical personality I've seen in decades. Highly recommend.

[1] 2] The band's founding members were bassist Garry Gary Beers, main composer and keyboardist Andrew Farriss, drummer Jon Farriss, guitarist Tim Farriss, lead singer and main lyricist Michael Hutchence, and guitarist and saxophonist Kirk Pengilly. [3] For 20 years, INXS was fronted by Hutchence, whose magnetic stage presence made him the focal point of the band. [1] 3] Initially known for their new wave / pop style, the band later developed a harder pub rock and alternative rock style that included funk and dance elements. [1] In 1984, INXS had their first number-one hit in Australia with " Original Sin. The band would later achieve international success in the mid-to-late 1980s and early 1990s with the hit albums Listen Like Thieves, Kick, and X, as well as the singles " What You Need. Need You Tonight. the band's only number-one single in the United States. Devil Inside. Never Tear Us Apart. [2] In 2005, members of INXS participated in Rock Star: INXS, a reality television series that culminated in the selection of Canadian J. Fortune as their new lead singer. Irish singer-songwriter Ciaran Gribbin replaced Fortune as lead singer in 2011. During a concert on 11 November 2012, INXS stated that the performance would be their last, although they did not announce the bands permanent retirement. INXS won six Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) awards, including three for "Best Group" in 1987, 1989 and 1992; 8] the band was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001. [9] 10] INXS has sold an estimated 60 million records worldwide making them one of Australia's highest selling acts. [11] History [ edit] Early years [ edit] The origins of the band began with Andrew Farriss convincing his fellow Davidson High School classmate, Michael Hutchence, to join his band, Doctor Dolphin. [12] The band contained two further classmates, Kent Kerny and Neil Sanders, as well as Garry Beers and Geoff Kennely, both from a nearby high school, Forest High School. [12] In 1977, Tim Farriss, Andrew's older brother, invited Andrew, Hutchence and Beers to join him and his schoolmate Kirk Pengilly. Tim and Pengilly had been playing together since 1971 as either an acoustic duo, Kirk and Tim, or as a four-piece band called Guinness [12] named after their bass player's dog [13. Together with younger brother Jon Farriss they formed "The Farriss Brothers" who consisted of Garry Beers on bass guitar, Andrew Farriss on keyboards, Jon Farriss on drums, Tim Farriss on lead guitar, Michael Hutchence on lead vocals and Kirk Pengilly on guitar and saxophone. [1] 3] 14] The band made their debut on 16 August 1977 at Whale Beach, 15] 40 km (25 mi) north of Sydney. [15] The parents of the Farriss boys relocated to Perth, Western Australia in 1978, taking Jon to continue his schooling and, as soon as Hutchence and Andrew finished school, the rest of the band followed. [2] 15] They briefly performed as The Vegetables, singing "We Are the Vegetables" before returning to Sydney ten months later, 15] where they recorded a set of demos. [12] At a chance meeting in the car park of the Narrabeen Antler, a pub in Narrabeen on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, New South Wales, Tim was approached by Gary Morris, the manager of Midnight Oil. [12] The band began to regularly support Midnight Oil and other local bands. Morris advised that a member of the Oils crew had come up with a new name and suggested they change it to INXS. [12] The name INXS was inspired by English band XTC and Australian jam makers IXL. [2] 15] Pengilly later explained that Morris was interested in turning the group into a Christian band, which the band briefly considered before rejecting the idea. [12] The band's first performance as INXS was on 1 September 1979 at the Ocean Beach Hotel in Umina [16] on the Central Coast of New South Wales and by the end of 1979, after passing on the Christian band image, they hired Chris "CM" Murphy as their manager and continued taking on the Oz pub circuit. [2] 13] 15] 17] Murphy was an adept business manager and negotiator and by early 1980 the band had signed a five-album record deal with a Sydney independent label, Deluxe Records, run by Michael Browning, a former manager of AC/DC. [1] 2] 12] 1980s [ edit] From "Simple Simon" to Shabooh Shoobah [ edit] INXS released their first single. Simple Simon. We Are the Vegetables. in Australia and France in May 1980. [1] 13] 18] The single had its debut TV performance on Simon Townsend's Wonder World. [15] Their self-titled debut album, INXS, was recorded at Trafalgar Studios in Annandale, Sydney, it was co-produced by the band and Duncan McGuire (ex- Ayers Rock) with all songs attributed to the entire band, at the insistence of Murphy. [12] 13] Deluxe gave them a budget of 10, 000 to record the album, so to keep within the budget they had to record from midnight to dawn, usually after doing one or more performances earlier that night. [13] The album was released in October 1980. It featured "Just Keep Walking" which was their first Australian Top 40 single, 1] 4] with the album peaking in the Top 30 of the Kent Music Report for Australian albums. [1] 3] 4] The album eventually went gold (selling over 35, 000 units) but it took a number of years to do so. [12] These early records demonstrated their new wave / ska /pop style, and were followed by near constant touring with almost 300 shows during 1981 as the band developed their status as a live act. [1] 2] In 1981, they signed Gary Grant as their tour manager, who then became co-manager a year later. [12] Between touring commitments, the band released their third single in May 1981. The Loved One. which was a cover of a 1966 song by Australian group The Loved Ones. The song was recorded at Studios 301 in Sydney, 12] produced by Richard Clapton, 3] and peaked in the Top 20. [1] 4] 18] The success of the single led to Clapton and the band returning to Studios 301 between July and August 1981 to create an album. In October 1981, their second album Underneath the Colours was released and became a hit in Australia peaking at No. 15. [4] Soon after recording sessions had finished, band members started work on outside projects. Beers, Jon and Andrew Farriss played on Clapton's solo album, The Great Escape. Hutchence recorded "Speed Kills" written by Don Walker of Cold Chisel for the soundtrack of the film Freedom directed by Scott Hicks. It was his first solo single and was released by WEA in early 1982. [12] In January, INXS toured New Zealand as support act for Cold Chisel. Band manager, Murphy, became convinced their future no longer lay with Deluxe Records. RCA (who distributed Deluxe) had employed music lover Rockin Rod Woods, who had been promoting Eric Clapton, Split Enz and some of the world's biggest acts. Woods was passionate about the band and brought key music people along to their gigs. He encouraged RCA to sign them worldwide because Murphy had played him some demos. Deluxe had been unable to attract international interest, and decided to record a new song. The One Thing " at their own expense, with Mark Opitz at Paradise Studios. [12] The song turned out so well that Murphy hired Opitz to produce three more songs. [13] Murphy approached WEA Australia with copies of the song, leading to INXS signing a recording deal in July 1982 with WEA for releases in Australia, South East Asia, Japan and New Zealand, Atco Records (a subsidiary of Atlantic Records) for North America and Polygram for Europe and the UK. [1] 2] 3] 12] Murphy and the band were not entirely convinced that Opitz could produce an entire album that would attract international interest, so prior to recording their third album Pengilly, Hutchence and Andrew Farriss visited the UK and USA, with a view to selecting a suitable producer, only to find that no one they wanted was available and that most people advised them that Opitz's work on their single was as good as they could wish for. [12] In mid-1982, they began recording at Rhinoceros Studios, with Opitz. [3] In October 1982, Shabooh Shoobah was released internationally on Atlantic/Atco Records, peaking at No. 52 on the US Billboard 200 and No. 46 on the Hot Pop Albums chart. [7] 19] In Australia it peaked at No. 5 and remained in the albums charts for 94 weeks. [4] The single "The One Thing" brought them their first Top 30 hit in United States peaking at No. 30 on 28 May 1983, 20] it was a Top 20 hit in Canada, 6] and peaked at No. 14 in Australia on 23 August 1982. [4] One Thing" was their first video to air on the fledgling MTV and significantly added to the ultimate success of the single. [13] 13 February 1983, saw INXS play the Stop the Drop Nuclear Disarmament concert to 14, 000 at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, alongside Midnight Oil, Colin Hay, Redgum and Goanna. It was simulcast on Australian TV by Channel 10 and Radio 2MMM. INXS undertook their first US performance in San Diego in March 1983, to a crowd of 24 patrons. [12] Their first tour was as support for Adam and the Ants, then support for Stray Cats, The Kinks, 1] Hall & Oates followed by The Go-Go's. [12] 13] INXS played alongside many of their contemporaries on New Wave Day in May 1983, at the US Festival in Devore, California. [21] It was during this time that Grant, their co-manager, relocated permanently to New York to ensure a continual presence in the northern hemisphere. [12] The band remained on the road in the US for most of the year, including support for Men at Work and by mid-1983 were headlining venues such as The Ritz in New York. [12] From "Original Sin" to Listen Like Thieves [ edit] INXS started out as a new wave act, but gradually moved in a more straight-ahead rock-oriented direction through the first half of the 1980s. [22] Following a performance in Toronto, Canada, the band was approached by producer Nile Rodgers; by September 1983, the band had recorded " Original Sin. originally entitled "Brand New Day" at New York's Power Station Studios. [12] Three tracks from Shabooh Shoobah were featured in the soundtrack for the 1984 film Reckless. [23] The band then travelled to the UK to begin sessions on their fourth album with Nick Launay at the Manor Studios in Oxford. [12] The album The Swing, released in April 1984, 3] received significant attention from around the world, as "Original Sin" became the band's first No. 1 single in Australia and was popular worldwide with fans and reviewers. [24] During 1984, the single reached no. 1 in Australia (for two weeks in January. 4] Argentina, and France; No. 6 in New Zealand; No. 11 in Canada; No. 23 in Switzerland; 25] No. 31 in the Netherlands; and No. 58 in the U. S. [6] Yet "Original Sin" was largely ignored in the U. K., where INXS was described in New Musical Express as a "depressingly definitive example of excruciating, boring, incredibly unimaginative MTV rock. 1] 26] 27] INXS did not have any Top 50 chart success in the United Kingdom until the 1985 album Listen Like Thieves. [28] During 1984, INXS toured non-stop, performing across Europe, the UK, the US and Australia. By December 1984, The Swing had gone double platinum, making it one of the five biggest domestic albums in the history of Australian music at the time. [12] In March 1985, the band re-entered Sydney's Rhinoceros Studios to record their next album, together with producer Chris Thomas ( Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd, The Pretenders, Elton John. 12] As the band was finishing the recording sessions, Thomas stated that the album was not good enough and still had no "killer" track. Andrew produced a demo tape of a funk song he had been working on called "Funk Song No. 13" and evolved it into " What You Need. 12] Whilst the band was recording, WEA released Dekadance, a limited edition 12" Vinyl and cassette only EP of INXS remixes from their albums The Swing and Shabooh Shoobah. [3] On 19 May 1985, INXS won seven awards at the 1984 Countdown Music and Video Awards ceremony. [1] They performed " Burn for You. dressed in Akubras (hats) and Drizabones (outdoor coats/oilskin jackets. The band performed five songs for the July 1985 Oz for Africa concert, in conjunction with the Live Aid benefit. [29] Two INXS songs. What You Need " and " Don't Change. were also in the BBC broadcast and are contained on Live Aid's four DVD boxed set released in 2004. [30] Listen Like Thieves was released in October 1985 [3] to critical approval, 31] reaching No. 3 on the Australian charts and No. 11 on the US charts. With the release of Listen Like Thieves, the band developed a rock sound influenced by Led Zeppelin and XTC while remaining true to the band's original roots in Aussie pubs. It was also the first album to feature songs written by a combination of band members, with Andrew Farris and Hutchence becoming the primary songwriters in the years to follow. [13] The first U. single from the album. This Time. stalled at No. 81 in late 1985, but the next single, What You Need"—released there in early 1986—became a top five Billboard hit, 6] bringing INXS its first break-out US success. The single was also a top 20 hit in Canada and reached No. 2 in Australia (September 1985. 4] but only reached No. 51 on the UK charts. [28] The British press dismissed the album, with New Musical Express calling the band 'INX-cusable' and a reviewer declaring Listen Like Thieves to be a 'complete and utter turkey. 12] In the United States, however, Rolling Stone wrote: INXS rocks with passion and seals the deal with a backbeat that'll blackmail your feet. 31] In August 1985, INXS toured ahead of the release of Listen Like Thieves, touring South America before returning to Melbourne to play for Prince Charles and Princess Diana of Wales at a concert. The concert was filmed and later released on a home video entitled Living INXS; 32] an edited version of the concert was played on MTV in the U. in 1985 on its Saturday night concert series. In November, December, January, and February, INXS toured North America, Europe, and New Zealand. The band then took a two-month break, with Andrew Farriss writing and producing "You're Gonna Get Hurt" for Jenny Morris (who had previously been a backing vocalist with the band. 33] and Hutchence featuring in Richard Lowenstein 's second feature film Dogs in Space. [34] Lowenstein had previously made the video clip for "Dancing on the Jetty. Whilst a song from the movie, Rooms for the Memory" written by Ollie Olsen, with vocals by Hutchence [35] charted, the movie was received well by critics but was not a commercial success. Beginning in May 1986, the band performed 32 European shows (including support for Queen at their Live at Wembley '86 concert on 12 July) 42 U. shows, and 12 Australian shows. America's influential Musician magazine called INXS "the best live band in the world. 12] From "Good Times" to Kick [ edit] Lead singer Michael Hutchence in 1986. Whilst on an eight-month break before beginning work on a new album, their manager Murphy decided to stage a series of major outdoor concerts across Australia, featuring INXS, Jimmy Barnes, Models, Divinyls, Mental as Anything, The Triffids and I'm Talking. [15] To promote the tour INXS recorded two songs with Jimmy Barnes of Cold Chisel: The Easybeats cover " Good Times " and "Laying Down the Law" which Barnes co-wrote with Beers, Andrew Farriss, Jon Farriss, Hutchence and Pengilly. [36] Good Times" was used as the theme song for the Australian Made series of concerts in the summer of 1986–1987. [15] It peaked at No. 2 on the Australian charts, 4] and months later was featured in the Joel Schumacher film The Lost Boys and its soundtrack, 37] 38] allowing it to peak at No. 47 in the US on 1 August 1987. [6] 20] After the success of "What You Need" and Listen Like Thieves, the band knew their new material would have to be even better and wanted every song on the album to be good enough to be a single. [15] They recorded Kick in Sydney and Paris, and it was produced by Chris Thomas. [3] Atlantic Records was not happy with the result; the label offered the band 1 million to go back to Australia and record another album, but the band declined. [15] Despite Atlantic's protests, Kick was released in October 1987 and provided the band with worldwide popularity. The album peaked at No. 1 in Australia, 4] No. 3 on the US Billboard 200, 19] No. 9 in UK, 28] and No. 15 in Austria. [39] It was an upbeat, confident album that yielded four Top 10 US singles: No. 1 single " Need You Tonight. Devil Inside. New Sensation. and " Never Tear Us Apart. 6] Need You Tonight" peaked No. 2 on the UK charts, 28] No. 3 in Australia, 4] and No. 10 in France. [40] The band toured heavily behind the album throughout 1987 and 1988. The video for the 1987 INXS track "Mediate" which played after the video for "Need You Tonight" replicated the format of Bob Dylan's video for " Subterranean Homesick Blues. even in its use of apparently deliberate errors. In September 1988, the band swept the MTV Video Music Awards with the video for "Need You Tonight/Mediate" winning in 5 categories. [41] Kick was, by far, INXS's best-selling album of all time. During 1989, Hutchence collaborated with Ian "Ollie" Olsen on a side project, Max Q, 1] the two had previously worked together on Lowenstein's film Dogs in Space. The rest of the band also took a break to work on side projects, but soon returned to the studio to record their follow-up album to Kick. 1990–1997: From X to Elegantly Wasted [ edit] In October 1990, INXS released X, which was produced by Chris Thomas. The album peaked at No. 3 in Australia, 5] No. 5 in the US, 19] No. 2 in the UK, 28] No. 5 in Switzerland and No. 10 in Sweden. [7] 42] It followed in the same vein as Kick, and added harmonica to some songs. X scored hits with " Suicide Blonde " and " Disappear. both Top 10 in the US. 6] Suicide Blonde" peaked at No. 2 in Australia, No. 11 in the UK [28] and in Switzerland. [43] Other singles from X were " Bitter Tears " and " By My Side. which had less chart success. [1] INXS performed at Wembley Stadium on 13 July 1991, during their "Summer XS" tour stop in London to a sold-out audience of 74, 000 fans. [1] This performance was recorded and filmed to become Live Baby Live, a live album that was released in November 1991 and peaked in the Top 30 in the Australia and UK album charts. [5] 28] The album had less success on The Billboard 200. [19] A video version of the album was also released under the same title. This concert was the band's most well-attended show of all time; according to a 2017 article by Paul Donoughue of, it "solidified [INXS's] place in pop history. 44] On 28 March 1992, INXS performed at the controversial Concert for Life at Centennial Park in Sydney (a fundraiser for the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Centre) and other performers included Crowded House, Yothu Yindi, Jenny Morris, Diesel, Ratcat and Def FX. Due to inclement weather, the expected attendance of 100, 000 never came through, and the event only raised 500, 000. [45] Welcome to Wherever You Are, produced by Mark Opitz and released in August 1992, 3] was an experimental album using sitars and a 60-piece orchestra while adding a more "raw" sound. It received good critical reviews and went No. 1 in the UK [28] and in Sweden; 46] No. 2 in Australia and Switzerland, 46] and No. 3 in Norway, 46] but had less chart success in the US (peaking at No. 16. 19] Singles from the album included " Taste It " and " Baby Don't Cry. which were Top 20 successes in UK but had less success in US and Australian markets. [5] 6] 28] Full Moon, Dirty Hearts, produced by Opitz, was released in November 1993 and peaked at No. 3 on the UK charts, 28] No. 4 in Australia, 5] No. 8 in Sweden, 47] No. 9 in Switzerland, 47] No. 14 in Norway; 47] it did not reach the Top 50 in the US. [19] The title track featured The Pretenders ' Chrissie Hynde, and another track- Please (You Got That) —featured Ray Charles. The band made a full video album for the record using unknown Australian students to direct with help from Richard Lowenstein. Full Moon, Dirty Hearts received mixed reviews, and was the last record under INXS' contract with Atlantic in the States. The band took time off to rest and be with their families, while Hutchence remained in the public eye through modelling and film acting. [1] In 1997, the group released a comeback album titled Elegantly Wasted, which garnered mixed reviews. It fared respectably in Australia (No. 14. 5] 48] Canada (No. 14. 19] France (No. 30. 48] UK (No. 16) 28] where INXS had more success in the 1990s than in the 1980s) Belgium (No. 7. 48] Switzerland (No. 13. 48] but only No. 41 in US. [19] On 22 November 1997, Michael Hutchence was found dead in his Sydney Ritz-Carlton hotel room. [49] On 6 February 1998, New South Wales State Coroner Derrick Hand presented his report, which ruled that Hutchence's death was a suicide while depressed and under the influence of drugs and alcohol. [49] 50] 51] Despite the official coroner's report, there was continued speculation that Hutchence's death was accidental. [52] 53] 1997–2003: Transitional years [ edit] The instrumentalists from INXS collaborated with several Australian singers before settling on Jon Stevens as a replacement for Hutchence. After Hutchence's death, INXS did not perform publicly for almost a year, and then only made a few one-off performances with different guest singers until 2000. [2] On 28 November 1998, they played at the Mushroom 25 Concert with Jimmy Barnes fronting for two songs: The Loved One" and "Good Times. 2] 16] On 12 June 1999, they headlined the opening of Stadium Australia in Sydney, with US singer-songwriter Terence Trent D'Arby and Russell Hitchcock as guest vocalists, they performed "New Sensation. Kick. Never Tear Us Apart" and "What You Need. 2] 16] In December 2000, INXS performed a concert with singers Suze DeMarchi and Jon Stevens sharing the spotlight. The former lead singer of Australian band Noiseworks, Jon Stevens began singing with INXS on regular basis. [2] INXS played as one of the headline acts at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and then toured through South America and Europe. [16] Stevens was officially named a member of INXS in 2002, and the band started recording new material in November. [2] Stevens left the band in October 2003 to pursue a solo career, 2] and only recorded a contractual obligation song called " I Get Up. " 2004–2005: Rock Star: INXS [ edit] INXS returned to the news in 2004 when it was announced that a new reality television program titled Rock Star: INXS would feature a contest to find a new lead vocalist for the band. The show, which debuted on the CBS network on 11 July 2005, featured 15 contestants vying for the position of lead singer. The show was executive produced by Survivor ' s Mark Burnett and hosted by Brooke Burke and Jane's Addiction and former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro. On 20 September 2005, J. Fortune won the eleven-week competition, which culminated in his singing the Rolling Stones 's " You Can't Always Get What You Want " and INXS' What You Need" in the finale to become the new lead singer of INXS. 2005–2011: J. Fortune era [ edit] With Fortune as lead singer, INXS released the single "Pretty Vegas" on 4 October 2005. The single reached No. 5 on the iTunes Store ranking of daily most downloaded songs on its first day. It peaked at No. 9 in Australia [5] and No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100, 6] and became a huge radio airplay hit in Fortune's native Canada. On 29 November 2005, Switch —the band's first album with Fortune as lead singer—was released in the United States via Epic Records. The band's new line-up started a world tour in support of Switch in January 2006. [54] In September 2006, INXS and Epic Records parted ways. [55] The band then performed at the 2006 NRL Grand Final. INXS toured Australia and New Zealand in March 2007, with Simple Minds and support band Arrested Development. [56] After the cancellation of a 31 August 2007 show in Cleveland, Ohio, INXS placed a statement on their website stating "Due to ongoing medical issues with Garry Beers' hand, the band's doctor has urged the band to not play more than three shows in a row or risk permanent damage to Garry's hand. 57] The band signed with Petrol Electric Records in December 2008, reuniting them with former manager Chris Murphy. [58] On 16 February 2009, J. Fortune told Entertainment Tonight Canada that INXS had let him go from the band with a shake of the hand at an airport in Hong Kong. [59] On 23 February 2009, Chris Murphy, INXS creative director and global business strategist and former manager, in an interview with The Daily Telegraph, said J. was not sacked and, in fact, the band made it known to him that they had not ruled out seeing a return by Fortune. He also stated J. was next on his list to call regarding a major recording contract he was negotiating for the band. [60] In an interview with Sun Media published on 6 March 2009, J. Fortune clarified his claim that he had been fired at an airport. After returning to Canada from Hong Kong, Fortune believed there were still two more legs of the INXS 2007 tour to complete. When the rest of the tour was cancelled and the band did not return his calls for 10 months, he believed he was out of the band. [61] On 30 November 2009, Andrew Farriss, Jon Farriss, and Kirk Pengilly performed an acoustic version of "Don't Change" with the Qantas Choir at the Pride of Australia Awards. [62] On 8 December 2009, INXS announced they would be embarking on a world tour commencing with a performance in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. [63] The band announced on 11 February 2010 that J. Fortune would be vocalist for the performance at the 2010 Winter Olympics, but that it would be a one-off performance; the band added that a vocalist for the subsequent world tour had yet to be announced. [64] The band performed at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics on 24 February 2010 with guest singers J. Fortune and Argentine singer Deborah de Corral. [65] On 22 April 2010, INXS announced that Fortune would again front the band for a performance on 10 July 2010 at Townsville, QLD, Australia, and then again on 16 July 2010 in Broome, WA, Australia [66] During a radio interview with Kirk Pengilly and J. Fortune in July 2010 just before the Broome concert, Pengilly confirmed that Fortune had returned as the band's permanent singer. In August 2010, Petrol Records issued Australian radio stations with a one-track promo "Never Tear Us Apart" featuring Ben Harper on vocals, a preview from the upcoming INXS Michael Hutchence tribute album Original Sin. On 25 September 2010, the band performed prior to the 2010 AFL Grand Final. On 19 October 2010, it was announced in the Courier Mail that INXS, fronted by J. Fortune, would tour as part of the A Day on the Green winery concerts in February. 67] The band recorded an album in memory of Michael Hutchence titled Original Sin. Released in November 2010, the album featured well-known singers from Australia and around the world, including Ben Harper, Patrick Monahan, and Rob Thomas. [68] 69] 70] 71] In March 2011, INXS confirmed they would return to the United Kingdom and headlining with support from New Zealand band Shihad for an outdoor event called Southern Sounds on Clapham Common, London on Saturday 11 June. [72] The event was an all-Australian, New Zealand and South African celebration lineup, with INXS fronted by J. Fortune. INXS toured extensively throughout 2011 with singer J. Fortune to support the album Original Sin. 2011–2012: Later activities [ edit] The band released a demo of a song, called "Tiny Summer" in streaming format on their official website in September 2011, along with news that J. Fortune had left the band again and that Northern Irish singer-songwriter Ciaran Gribbin would be the band's frontman for their forthcoming tour of Australia, South America and Europe in November and December 2011. [73] On 6 October 2012, INXS were the headline act at the annual charity ball organised by the Hong Kong Foreign Correspondent's Club. [74] During a concert on 11 November 2012 at the newly opened Perth Arena, while supporting Matchbox Twenty, INXS announced that they would no longer be touring. Kirk Pengilly stated that it was appropriate to finish where they had started 35 years earlier. [75] Jon Farriss admitted that he was "getting teary" before the band performed their biggest hit, Need You Tonight. In 2014, INXS released a tell-all history of the band on an Australian television interview special, The Story Behind INXS. During the interview, Jon Farriss made the statement, Never say never" regarding the possibility that the band could record and perform more music in the future. [76] In 2013, Australian TV network Seven Network announced that it would produce a miniseries focusing on the band's behind-the-scenes stories called INXS: Never Tear Us Apart. Band member Tim Farriss was a pre-production consultant on the show. The miniseries commenced production at the end of June 2013 and premiered on 9 February 2014; the finale aired the following Sunday night (16 February 2014. The miniseries rated very highly for both nights and created a renewed interest in the band, which translated to a resurgence in sales of their music that brought them once again to the number one position on the Australian popular music charts. [77] Luke Arnold was cast as Michael Hutchence, Alex Williams as Kirk Pengilly, Nicholas Masters as Tim Farriss, Hugh Sheridan as bass guitarist Gary Beers, Ido Drent as Jon Farriss and Andy Ryan as Andrew Farriss. In addition, Damon Herriman played band manager CM Murphy and Samantha Jade played Kylie Minogue. [78] Given the popularity of this TV miniseries, there was talk of a Broadway musical and a feature film about INXS in the future. [79] In 2019, a documentary film was released about Michael Hutchence titled Mystify. A soundtrack was also released featuring INXS tracks. Its surprising given her ubiquity, but Lady Bird marks Greta Gerwigs solo directorial debut (she did co-direct Nights and Weekends with Joe Swanberg back in 2008. Irish actress Saorise Ronan is the titular troubled almost-adult, who seems to spend all her time dreaming of literary laurels and clashing with her deadpan mother (Laurie Metcalfe. Tracy Letts rounds out the family as Lady Birds father, out of work in the aftermath of the GFC (this film is set in 2002. Looks decent. Gerwig is a fairly divisive figure, to put it lightly, and her stuff isnt for everyone (admission time – I lasted through half an episode of Girls  and never went back) but that is a hell of a cast and the jokes hit more than they miss. Were intrigued. Lady Bird hits Australian cinemas on February 15, 2018.

While the Queens Theatre closes for refurbishment, the record-breaking show makes its home at the Gielgud Theatre for just 16 weeks. This fully-staged concert version stars a glittering line-up of throwback cast members, including Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Carrie Hope Fletcher and Matt Lucas. Les Mis devotees take note: it runs from 10 August 2019. The sweeping epic set against the Paris Uprising in the 19th century is the longest-running musical in the West End, having clocked up a grand total of 33 years. Based on Victor Hugos 1903 novel, the story was given the musical treatment by Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil, with English lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer. The spectacularly staged concert version of the show was last seen in London at the Royal Albert Hall and the O2 Arena to mark the musicals 10th and 25th anniversaries respectively. Ball will play Inspector Javert during the limited run. 34 years ago, Ball became the UK's definitive Marius when Sir Cameron Mackintosh cast him in the musical's world premiere. The show opened at the Barbican and soon transferred to the Palace Theatre. Ball also performed in the 10th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 1995. His huge back catalogue of theatre credits include The Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Boe will reprise his role of escaped convict Jean Valjean. It's a part he has previously made his own at the Queen's Theatre as well as on Broadway and at the 25th Anniversary Concert at the O2 Arena. Among his notable credits are Baz Luhrmanns La Bohème and the English National Operas Kismet, in which he shared a stage with Ball. The role of Fantine will be performed by Carrie Hope Fletcher. Another Les Misérables alumnus, she previously played Éponine in the Queen's Theatre production (as well as at the Dubai Opera. She was most recently seen onstage as the star of Heathers: The Musical and in the UK tour of The War of the Worlds: Alive on Stage. Matt Lucas will appear as Thénardier, a role he played to great comic effect at the O2 25th Anniversary Concert. He has also performed the role at the Queens Theatre, alongside Boes Jean Valjean. Aside from the theatre, the comedian/screenwriter/actor/singer is famous for a plethora of iconic television and film roles, including the BBCs Little Britain and 2007 film The Wind in the Willows. Katy Secombe will play Madame Thénardier. As well as having appeared in a multitude of television series, she was among the cast of the 2012 musical film of Les Misérables. The roles of Eponine and Cosette will be played by X-Factor 's Shan Ako and newcomer Lily Kerhoas, respectively. Three times a week, the role of Jean Valjean will be performed by John Owen-Jones. He previously held the role of Jean Valjean at the Queen's Theatre, and his other starring stage roles include the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera. Rob Houchen and Bradley Jaden have also been announced. Houchen previously played Marius in the West End, while Jaden has stepped into the shoes of Jean Valjean, Enjolras and Javert. They will head up a large cast and an orchestra of over 65 musicians, conjuring a vast theatrical spectacle. Further casting news is on its way. The current original London production will play at the Queens Theatre until 13 July 2019, at which point the venue will close for backstage and auditorium rebuilding work. The restored Queens Theatre will be unveiled in December 2019 and a new production of Les Misérables will begin. At the End of the Day, this is a unique chance to see a legendary cast in the phenomenal concert version of Les Misérables. Hear the People Sing from 10 August to 30 November 2019. Les misérables: the staged concert free movie 2017. Les mis c3 a9rables 3a the staged concert free movie html. WORTH A LOOK. WHERE? Gielgud Theatre RUNTIME: 170 minutes (including 20-minute interval) WHEN? 17/8 and runs to 30/11/19 STOP PRESS: Hope Fletcher has been cast as Fantine in Les Miserables at the Sondheim Theatre from 18/12/19 Tickets This years BBC adaptation of Les Miserables was song-free and here that idea is very much reversed with the focus on the score of the behemoth musical with the labyrinthine plot far less well explained. Read on for reasons including which songs in the score work especially well We suspect your experience of this staged concert will very much depend upon how you feel about the concept of a near story-free version because, while we felt it was missing some explanation, the rest of our party was very much enjoying how well these songs were being sung. The strength in depth of the cast is astounding. Boe plays hero Jean Valjean as he is freed from prison and his strong voice is always impressive. Ball is arguably a bigger star and it is gracious of him to play Valjeans nemesis, the policeman Javert who is so unbending that he is completely undone when shown unexpected kindness. Hope Fletcher recently starred to much acclaim in the West End transfer of Heathers  and here plays doomed single mother Fantine who does justice to arguably the shows best known song I Dreamed A Dream. If it all sounds rather serious so far, bawdy baddies the Thenardiers are brought vividly to life by Matt Lucas and Katy Secombe who combine pantomime villainy and real fun in the knockabout number Master Of The House. Elsewhere, we very much enjoyed Rob Houchen in Eugenius and he makes for a charming, youthful Marius. While the powerful singing of Bradley Jaden as Enjolras caught our ears. We enjoyed the recent BBC version of Les Miserables  but there was a gaping emotional hole where the songs would have been and Boes moving  Bring Him Home is especially good here. Shan Ako as doomed lover Eponine makes the most of the tear-jerking On My Own. Its not only the impressive singing that singles out this version of Les Miserables  but also the spectacle of a cast of more than 50 accompanied by a 26-strong orchestra. Other members of our party joined the standing ovation with whoops of delight and, while this was a show we very much enjoyed, we think we would have preferred to have seen the original musical in its entirety. He will be reprising the role once again for the Gielgud concert production (John Owen-Jones will share the role with Boe, see below for more details. ) Carrie Hope Fletcher Carrie Hope Fletcher s career has been littered with appearances in the musical. When she was nine years old, she appeared in the West End production as Young Eponine, and returned to the show in 2013 to take over the role of adult Eponine, making her the only British actor to play both young and older versions of the character. She returns to the musical to play Fantine in the concert production this summer. She recently revealed that across her two runs in the musical she racked up 959 performances, and returning this year means she will break the 1, 000 performances mark. He was then cast in the role at the Queens Theatre, alongside Alfie Boe, and played the role for three months. He returns to the musical to reprise the same role in London this summer. Les misérables: the staged concert free movie schedule. Show Closed This show is now closed. All Star Les Miserables – Legendary entertainment! In 1862 Victor Hugo wrote a novel. More than a century later the story turned up as a concept album. In 1980 it was adapted for the stage and enjoyed a brief run. In 1983 Cameron Macintosh created an English language version which, two years later, hit the London stage and made history. Thirty nine years later Les Mis is still loved by millions. The London production has run continuously since October 1985, the longest-running West End musical and the second longest-running musical in the world. Now we've got something incredibly special for you. Whether you've already seen the show or not you'll adore this fresh production starring a celebrity cast. For a strictly limited 16 week season, Cameron Mackintosh's production of Boublil and Schönberg's Les Mis will star Michael Ball as Javert, Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Carrie Hope Fletcher as Fantine, Matt Lucas as Thénardier and Katy Secombe as Madame Thénardier. The staging is apparently spectacular and also unusually intimate, telling the story in the form of a concert that has previously wowed audiences at the Royal Albert Hall and The O2. The cast and orchestra total more than 65 people, a whopper of a production, and it's on at the Gielgud theatre from August, right next door to the current home of Les Mis, the Queen's. The show tunes are amazing, and hearing them sung by these remarkable singers is a huge treat. You'll sing your heart out to tunes like I Dreamed A Dream, Bring Him Home, One Day More and On My Own. And the plot? It goes like this. Roll back time to the early 1800s. The scene is France. This is the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and his burning need for redemption after serving nineteen years in jail for stealing a loaf of bread. Valjean breaks his parole and begins a new life, inspired by a Bishop's act of mercy, promising to adopt and care for the orphaned girl Cosette. Chased by the police, Valjean must be very careful indeed. But when the revolution heats up and a group of young idealists try to overthrow the government at a street barricade, things get nasty. Who is this show for? Les Mis is great for kids aged 8 and over. Children under 5 won't be admitted. If you're under 16 you must sit with your parents or an accompanying adult.

Jean Valjean has a new life and a new name but the shadow of Javert looms large, and in the distance, there is the sound of drums. Revolution is marching through the streets of Paris. The cast of  Les Miserables: The All-Star Staged Concert The large cast and more than 65-member strong orchestra of this production will be led by  Michael Ball  playing Javert,  Alfie Boe  as his nemesis Jean Valjean*  Carrie Hope Fletcher  bringing Fantine to life on the stage and  Matt Lucas  portraying Thénardier. They will be joined by  Katy Secombe  as   Madame Thénardier and for three performances a week, the role of Jean Valjean will be played by  John Owen-Jones. Michael Ball  returns to this show more than 30 years after originating the role of Marius Pontmercy in the world premiere of  Les Miserables. The role brought him recognition and launched a successful career both as an actor and recording artist. Ball would go on to win two Oliver Awards for Best Actor in a Musical for his roles in  Hairspray  and the revival of  Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Ball returns to sing Javert after his performance at The 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Misérables in which he sung the same role, and on which the limited run production is based. Longtime friend of Michael Ball,  Alfie Boe, has been internationally lauded for his performances as Jean Valjean. In addition to his Tony award-winning role in  Baz Luhrmann's  La Boheme, his performances on various albums and at events around the world have brought him critical acclaim. He most recently performed in Broadway's 2016 production of  Finding Neverland  and on the West End stage in 2017's  Carousel. Carrie Hope Fletcher  joins the cast hot off the staggering success of her portrayal of Veronica in  Heathers The Musical  which played at both The Other Palace and the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Having previously played Éponine, this time Fletcher will take to the stage as Fantine.  Matt Lucas,  perhaps best known for his roles in televisions series like  Little Britain  and  Doctor Who, is also no stranger to Les Miserables. He sang the role of Thénardier at the 25th-anniversary concerts and went on to do a short run playing the character at the Queen's Theatre. He now returns to the role for the  Les Miserables: The All-Star Staged Concert at London's Gielgud Theatre. Les Miserables Then and Now Les Miserables: The All-Star Staged Concert comes to the Gielgud Theatre while the current home of Les Miserables, the Queen's Theatre is scheduled to be refurbished. Playing until 13 July 2019,  tickets for the current production of  Les Miserables  can be booked until the run closes. Once the restored Queens Theatre is reopened in December of 2019  a new production of  Les Misérables, based on the UK tour production, will continue in its West End home with a new West End cast in residence. Les Miserables: The All-Star Staged Concert tickets are among the most sought after in London, so book now. This extremely limited 16-week run brings together an all-star cast which means you need to book tickets to  Les Miserables: The All-Star Staged Concert early to avoid disappointment and guarantee the best seats at the best prices. The role of Jean Valjean will be shared between Alfie Boe and John Owen-Jones, for the cast schedule please pay attention to the Special Notice below.

There are some shows which the cast cant seem to get enough of, and Les Misérables is one of them. Several previous cast members are currently back on stage in the production for One Day More (and then another sixteen weeks after that) when the show temporarily moves to the Gielgud Theatre. A slightly different production to the one previously at The Sondheim Theatre (formerly Queens Theatre) this limited run will be a fully-staged concert version, with over 65 musicians playing in the accompanying orchestra. So, who are these returning stars in their multitudes? And whats their history with Les Misérables? Carrie Hope Fletcher One of the lovely ladies returning to Les Misérables is Carrie Hope Fletcher. Les Misérables was Carries West End debut, as she played the adorable role of Young Eponine at the sweet age of nine in 2001. Fast forward twelve years, and Carrie went on to play this same role once again, but this time she was all grown up, and so was Eponine. Carrie is currently the only British actor to have performed both young and older Eponine in Les Misérables. Shes also performed the role in the musicals 30th Anniversary gala performance, and globally in Dubai. In fact, Carrie is the longest-running Eponine in the London productions 30-year history, performing in 959 shows! GET THE FULL EXPERIENCE: To see this content youll need to allow us to set some additional cookies! Update your cookie preferences here and enable ‘social and advertising cookies But you wont be hearing her sing “On My Own” this time round, as Carrie will be playing the role of Fantine in the upcoming version. Were already dreaming a dream about seeing Carrie perform once again in this iconic show! Michael Ball Not only did Michael Ball also make his West End debut in Les Misérables back in 1985, but he also originated the role of Marius Pontmercy in the show. Performing in the Les Misérables world premiere, Michael is an original cast member of this incredibly iconic show. As well as performing at the Barbican for the shows first-ever performance, Michael also took to the stage at the Palace Theatre during the West End transfer. Michael has also performed on three Les Misérables cast albums as Marius, including the Original London Cast album, the Complete Symphonic Recording and the 10th Anniversary concert edition. Now 34 years later, after making an incredibly big impact in the original production (apparently it was quite a hectic scene at the stage door. Michael is back, but this time hes also taking up a new character, on the other side of the revolution, playing Javert. Alfie Boe Returning to reprise his previous role of Jean Valjean, Alfie Boe appeared in Les Misérables in 2011, the same year that Matt Lucas joined the show. But before treading the West End boards as prisoner 24601, Alfie had previously performed the role in the concert edition for the 25th-anniversary celebrations. He was then cast full-time in 2011 in the full production. Alfie has also been chased by Javert in the Broadway revival in 2015, taking over from Ramin Karimloo. As well as having a long history with Les Misérables, Alfie is also connected to Michael Ball, who is playing his arch-rival in this new production. Alfie and Michael have toured together, recorded three albums together, released three singles as a pair and sang together many times on stage too. Basically, this show is a bit of a reunion for Alfie and Michael! Matt Lucas If anyone encompasses the song, I Dreamed A Dream, its Matt Lucas. A huge musical fan during his childhood, Matt dreamed of being on that famous revolving stage since the moment he first saw it at the age of 13. And his dream came true, when he was asked to perform the role of Thénardier, the wicked innkeeper, at the Les Misérables 25 th anniversary celebration. The only cast member whod never appeared in a stage production of the show, Matts journey was documented by the BBC. And he clearly impressed the audience and the producers, as he went onto perform the same role the following year for three months. Just like Michael, Matt has also dueted with Alfie Boe on one of his many albums. Rob Houchen One of Carries co-stars during her last run in Les Mis was Rob Houchen. And just like Carrie, hes back, reprising his role of Marius for the staged concert. As well as holding up the barricades of the Queens Theatre, Rob has also performed in the show on a global scale, taking part in the Les Miserables 30th Anniversary show in Japan. Bradley Jaden A very recent performer in the show, Bradley was playing the lead role of Javert when the final curtain came down on the previous production only a few weeks ago. And now hes already back, this time playing Enjolras. No stranger to that particular character, before his time on the West End barricades, Bradley had played the role of Enjolras in the 30th Anniversary production. Katy Secombe Also reprising her previous role in the new production, Katy Secombe will play Madame Thenardier. Katy has performed in the iconic musical both on stage and on screen, as she landed the part of Madame Huchloup in the 2012 Academy award-winning film adaptation of the show. Katy Secombe has played the role of Madame Thénardier for three productions of the show, including the 30th Anniversary Cast production. John Owen-Jones For three performances a week, the role of Jean Valjean will be played by John Owen-Jones. Just like his fellow cast members, John has also performed in Les Misérables many times before. He first played Jean Valjean at just 26 years old, making him the youngest person to ever play this difficult role. John had previously understudied Jean Valjean, and had also performed the roles of the Factory Foreman, Feuilly, Grantaire and Enjolras before taking over the role full-time. He even performed within the choir of the 10th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 1995. John returned to play Jean in 2005 for two years (with a few months off to be in another show…busy bee. As well as playing Jean Valjean for London audiences, John has taken the role over the pond, performing in American productions. The last time John performed in Les Misérables was in 2009, as part of the 25th Anniversary International tour. Welcome back John! Adam Bayjou Playing the role of Montparnasse in this production, Adam has previously performed as the Factory Foreman, as well as being the first cover  Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. As well as a strong resume filled with both West End and Broadway shows, Adam also performs around the world in several groups, including VOXX – The West End Tenors, The 12 Tenors and The Opera Boys. And thats not even all the cast whove previously been in other productions of Les Misérables. Heres a full list of the other performers in the show who arent stepping onto the barricades for the first time: Rosanna Bates (Factory Worker) made her professional debut as Fantine. Ciaran Bowling (Swing) has also been a Les Mis swing. Simon Bowman (Bishop of Digne) has played  Marius and Jean Valjean in the West End and performed in the Les Misérables Concert. Oliver Brenin (Swing / Dance Captain) has also been a Swing / Dance Captain in the show. Earl Carpenter (Bamatabois) has performed as Javert in the Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Production. Hes also co-produced five symphonic presentations of Les Misérables in Concert. Vinny Coyle (Feuilly) has previously been a Swing, a Cover Grantaire and a Factory Foreman. Samantha Dorsey (Whore) has previously played Cosette. Tamsin Dowsett (Locket Crone) has played  Crone/Cover Madame Thenardier Nicola Espallardo (Factory Worker) appeared in the ensemble in the West End. Celia Graham (Factory Girl) has played Cosette and performed in the 25th Anniversary concert. Barnaby Hughes (Courfeyrac) has performed the role of Combeferre in the West End. Holly-Anne Hull (Whore) has been in the ensemble and as cover Cosette in both the international tour and in the West End. Oliver Jackson (Claquesous) has appeared in the West End production. Christopher Jacobsen (Warnings) has appeared as Enjolras and Alternate Jean Valjean, and was 1st Cover Jean Valjean in the 25th Anniversary international tour. Gavin James (Factory Foreman) has performed over 1000 times in the West End production as the Bishop of Digne/ Combeferre, has sung the concert in various locations and at the Olivier Awards, performed in the 25th birthday celebrations and provided vocals for the film. Ciaran Joyce (Joly) has performed many roles in the show, including cover Marius and cover Grantaire in the international tour, Gavroche and Montparnasse in the West End. Katie Kerr (Madame) was in the recent production. Sarah Lark (Assistant Dance Captain / Swing) is reprising her role from the recent West End production. Joanna Loxton (Assistant Dance Captain / Swing) is reprising her role, and has also been on the UK tour and taken part in the 25th-anniversary concert. Craig Mather (Combeferre) has performed in the West End production. Stephen Matthews (Babet) has performed in the Palace production, in the film adaptation and at the 10th-anniversary concert. James Nicholson (Jean Prouvaire) performed in the latest production. Rosa OReilly (Whore) has been understudy Eponine in both the international tour and Barbican production, took part in the 25th-anniversary concert and appeared in the film. Claire Parrish  (Swing) has been in the West End in the ensemble. Sophie Reeves (Whore) was first cover Fantine in 2016. Leo Roberts (Brujon) has performed as Javert and The Bishop of Digne in the West End. Raymond Walsh (Grantaire) has been in the West End production. Gemma Wardle (Factory Worker) played Eponine in the West End at just 17 years old. She also performed at both the 10th and 25th-anniversary concerts,  and even played Eponine at a private performance for the Queen. Andrew York (Lesgles) is reprising his role from the latest West End production. Possibly our favourite story is about Grainne Renihan who in this concert plays Hair Crone. Her time playing Fantine made her the longest holder of that role in the shows West End history. She is returning to the show alongside her son Ciarán Bowling, who she was pregnant with whilst playing Fantine in the 1996 cast, AND her sister Lizzy was in the show with her in the early 90s. A proper family affair! You can see this star-studded cast in  Les Misérables: The Staged Concert   at the Gielgud Theatre  until 30 November. The Sondheim Theatre will reopen on 18 December with the acclaimed New Production of Les Misérables.

The download button is grayed/disable for folders in Below there are only hacks. The evident (and painfully) approach You could select all file inside the desired folder and click the download button, but because it does not include sub-folders, you must patiently repeat the process for every folder in the tree. Request Apple a copy of your data (best approach) Go to and request to Apple a copy of your iCloud files. Unfortunately, you cannot select which folder you want to include. And it could take a few days before Apple send you the download link. However, you can effectively use this trick to download other data they make harder to get in a plain document format, like the Health App data. The iPhone + Other-cloud solution So, the original question request a solution "without having to sync the entire content of my iCloud Drive with my computer. I had the same problem. I was not using iCloud Drive in my Mac but it was active (probably by default) on my iPhone. Then, I could use the File app (the build-in App) to copy a whole folder to other cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc. Ensure your other cloud is active within the File App. Select Edit in the top right corner to activate the available cloud platforms. Select the folder to copy from iCloud and click below in the small folder icon. Select a destination inside another cloud. Wait. It could take longer to copy from one cloud to the other Use the other cloud to download your folder. Complaint to Apple! PS: I notice that for a large directory structure, this method can fail to copy the whole structure. Complaint to Apple Meanwhile, complain to Apple about this unbelievable omission.
